geoffandjen Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 All, If it wasn't such a nightmare, this could be a joke! I will write separately about the experience in curing my misfire on my 2.8 V6 1997, but for now - Can anybody identify the following part? It fell out off the engine compartment as I drove away from a 'garage' on Saturday. A couple of clues:- 1 -It is about 3 inches long2 -I have had my rocker cover off and all the 'stuff' that is required to take off in order to get to the top end of the timing chain.3 -I had 2 'new' fuel injectors fitted A virtual pint for the first correct answer! Praying somebody can help. Thank you Geoff Quote

geoffandjen Posted July 27, 2009 Author Report Posted July 27, 2009 Ok - it's a bracket. Very good. That's two pints so far. A virtual pint for whoever can identify whereabouts on my car it belongs. Quote
gregers Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 its a thingymerjig and its meant to be connected to the oujimerflip. no idea but when you say garage is this 1 that has carried out a service on your car?if so how about taking it and the car back to the dealer and stamping your feet over the situation? geoffandjen Posted July 27, 2009 Author Report Posted July 27, 2009 Long explanation on it's way - why I am not going anywhere near the garage - let alone letting them back on my car. Will phone them though. I am away on holiday at the weekend towing my caravan, and am a little worried that it could be vital. Quote
sepulchrave Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 It's not vital, stop worrying. It's probably a bracket for a loom clip for a length of wiring on the back of the head somewhere, maybe a knock sensor or somesuch. Crap garage though, I wouldn't go back there if I were you. Quote
cyborg Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Thar she blows Support bracket for plaggy thingy Mines an Old Peculier  Quote
